"A WORD FOR VIETNAM"
A Word For Vietnam is a video project built around a single question. How would you describe Vietnam in one word?
The project set out to give back a choral, unfiltered portrait of contemporary Vietnam.
Every answer becomes a fragment of a wider story, told through the voices of people of different ages, backgrounds and social contexts. Villagers, young people, adults and members of the local community, met both during the fieldwork with GTV and in the urban setting of Hanoi and its surroundings.
In three days of shooting we interviewed more than fifteen people, moving between rural and urban settings.

The project was made possible by a local network built and cultivated in the months before departure, which gave shape to a collective story made of faces, words and encounters.

Screenings and Events

The work was presented at dedicated events and evening screenings held in Brianza and Trento, conceived as moments of giving back and of exchange with the audience.
Each screening was accompanied by an account of the creative process and of the experience in the field, opening a space for dialogue between the human, the social and the work of raising awareness.
