In collaboration with GTV, we produced a visual storytelling project in Vietnam, working side by side with local communities and ethnic minorities in the most remote areas of the country.
Through short documentaries and photo reportage, the project set out to give a voice to the people supported by GTV's child sponsorship programmes, who shared their daily lives with the donors whose support helps make those lives possible.
"NHÀN, MY DREAM"
Nhàn is 15 years old and belongs to the Nung ethnic minority. She lives in the village of Ta Nhiu, in the Xin Man district. In the video she tells the story of her day, split between school and helping her mother in the fields and with the animals, alongside the support she receives through GTV's child sponsorship programme.
"a letter to you"
In an open letter to the donors, Tai Chi Ly, an eight-year-old girl, describes her daily life and the help she received during a year made especially hard by bad weather and a poor harvest.
Screenings
The work was presented at dedicated events and evening screenings held in Brianza and Trento, conceived as moments of giving back and of exchange with the audience.
Each screening was accompanied by an account of the creative process and of the experience in the field, opening a space for dialogue between the human, the social and the work of raising awareness.
